Clint Eastwood Had An Unusual Commitment To Unforgiven S Script

Clint Eastwood Had An Unusual Commitment To Unforgiven’s Script Warner Bros. By Joshua Meyer/May 16, 2022 10:15 am EST When a big-name Hollywood director first optioned David Webb Peoples’ script for “Unforgiven,” Peoples was not so far removed from his work co-writing another classic film, “Blade Runner.” Yet “Blade Runner” came out in the summer of 1982 and “Unforgiven” would not ride into theaters until the summer of 1992. In the 10-year gap, People’s “Unforgiven” script would pass from Francis Ford Coppola, the director of “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now,” to Clint Eastwood, who eventually won two Academy Awards for producing and directing the film (and received a Best Actor nomination for starring in it as well)....

Euphoria Season 2 Viewership Has Skyrocketed

Euphoria Season 2 Viewership Has Skyrocketed HBO By Shania Russell/Feb. 2, 2022 2:58 pm EST “Euphoria” is getting more popular by the week. This is wonderful news for HBO, a company I assume is buried in debt thanks to Sam Levinson’s body glitter budget. And don’t even get me started on how much this show probably spends on music — but who can blame them? The numbers don’t lie and it looks like this investment is paying off in spades....

Every Aaron Sorkin Movie Ranked Worst To Best

Malice Columbia Pictures Part of the neo-noir movement of the 1990s, “Malice” was Aaron Sorkin’s first attempt at an original screenplay, in collaboration with fellow ace writer Scott Frank. It stars Nicole Kidman and Bill Pullman as a couple whose decision to rent part of their home out to a mysterious young surgeon (Alec Baldwin) leads to a disturbing web of secrets being exposed. Sorkin was famously discontented with his contributions to the film, balking at director Harold Becker’s idea of writing a more risqué sex scene between Kidman and Baldwin, which was ultimately drafted without Sorkin’s help....

Jonah Ray Says Netflix Budgets Were ‘Antithetical’ To What Mystery Science Theater 3000 Is [Exclusive] Netflix By BJ Colangelo/May 2, 2022 3:53 pm EST Nearly three and a half decades since audiences were first introduced to the Shadowrama goodness of “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” the long-running movie riffing program doesn’t show signs of stopping anytime soon. The show about a human test subject being forced by The Mads to watch bad movies in the hopes of being driven insane atop a spacecraft has gone through a number of cast and broadcast changes over the years, but the heart of the show continues to beat as strong as ever....

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Season 5 Trailer Nedry S Barbasol Can Returns

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 5 Trailer: Nedry’s Barbasol Can Returns Netflix By Rafael Motamayor/April 18, 2022 1:16 pm EST There have been countless kid-friendly cartoon spin-offs of blockbuster movies that are anything but, from “RoboCop” and “Rambo,” to “Starship Troopers” and “The Toxic Avenger,” but few are as good as “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.” Though this animated show is still aimed at general audiences, it is an all-around great piece of television, with moments of chilling tension, plenty of dino-carnage, and also some surprising amount of emotionally mature content and themes like PTSD....

Jurassic World Dominion Is Stomping Its Way Towards A 142 Million Opening Weekend

When legasequels and superheroes ruled the earth Universal Pictures “The Batman” bombed in China, one of the world’s biggest movie markets, but “Dominion” is faring better there (despite the closure of some theaters due to Covid restrictions), with $15 million on its first day alone. In this respect, it also has an edge over “Maverick” and “Doctor Strange,” neither of which have been cleared for release in China. Reviews for “Dominion” have not been kind, but as THR notes, the movie came away with an A- Cinemascore, and it has benefited from occupying some of the IMAX and Premium Large Format screens that “Top Gun: Maverick” held before....

The 4 Best And 4 Worst Things About Morbius

The 4 Best And 4 Worst Things About Morbius Sony Pictures By Scott Thomas/April 4, 2022 6:59 pm EST In 1965, rock legend Roy Orbison crooned, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” It’s a nice sentiment. That said, Roy Orbison never saw “Morbius.” All kidding aside, Sony Pictures’ pseudo-Gothic extension of its Spider-Man Universe has finally arrived in theaters, and it is worth discussing. Sifting through the various creative decisions made for the project, be they good, strange, or awful, is certainly more interesting than sitting through your average “Dracula” ripoff or reading a subpar comic....

The Daily Stream The Host Is A Monster Movie Whose Emotions Hit As Hard As The Beast

Why It’s Essential Viewing Showbox Entertainment On a number of levels, “The Host” is an incredible genre entry with the accomplishments to match. Loosely based on a true story of a mutated fish emerging from the Han River (it didn’t end up a massive rampaging beast), the film was the highest-grossing South Korean film in history at that point with over 13 million tickets. It succeeds on a number of levels, anchored by stunning performances across the whole cast....

The Power Of The Dog Filmmaker Jane Campion Is The First Woman To Receive Two Best Director Nominations Netflix By Sandy Schaefer/Feb. 8, 2022 10:15 am EST It’s never a good thing when a major organization like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is still dolling out “firsts” when it comes to award nominations for people based on gender, race, and/or sexual orientation. True, the Academy has made some improvements in recent years, but it’s only just begun to compensate for decades of overlooking films starring and/or made by anyone who wasn’t a cisgender heterosexual white man....

This Uncharted Sequence Was Tom Holland’s Hardest Stunt Ever Sony Pictures By Jeremy Mathai/Feb. 18, 2022 12:00 pm EST During his years as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man-in-residence, Tom Holland has had to navigate all sorts of extensive action set pieces. The actor kicked things off with a massive airport battle in “Captain America: Civil War” (during the dog days of the Atlanta summer, mind you), survived a crashing plane in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” fended off various elemental battles in “Far From Home” before finally coming face-to-face with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) and his trippy VFX deceptions, and — oh, yeah — remember that time Thanos threw an entire moon at him and the other heroes during “Avengers: Infinity War”?...
